I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
